The C1010’s compact design lends itself to convenient portability from job site to job site. Weighing only 23 pounds and measuring nine inches wide, its slender suitcase-style design allows it to be easily stored and transported in the backseat of work vans and trucks. Operation is easy thanks to a one-hand universal quick connect feature for efficiency. Its ball drain valve makes for swift and comprehensive tank draining. Storage is made simple thanks to a convenient cord wrap feature built into the compressor.

Porter-Cable’s pioneering roll cage and full-protection frame design safeguards the C1010 from typical wear and tear as well as any unintentional damage on the job site. The metal control panel covers the air manifold to further shield the compressor’s key mechanisms.

In the event of a flat tire, a 260-psi air compressor provides easy, quick inflation. The air compressor is also handy for inflating air mattresses, sports equipment, and inner tubes--making it ideal for camping trips and other outdoor adventures. If you're stuck in the dark, a bright LED light located on the front of the CJIC 350 will illuminate your work area or act as an emergency light.
Portable Power for Appliances and Mobile Devices
The CJIC 350 features multiple charging outputs for appliances and devices of all sizes. A multipurpose 400-watt AC outlet gives you the ability to power anything from a refrigerator during a blackout to a boom box at a cookout in the park. In addition, any portable electronic device with a car adapter can be charged using the 12-volt DC socket.
Cell phones, iPods, and PDAs are supported as well, thanks to a useful 5-volt USB output. Whether used as a power source on camping trips or stored away for emergencies, the CJIC 350 is an invaluable, versatile resource.
Safe and Easy to Use
Charging the CJIC 350's maintenance-free, high-efficiency battery is as simple as plugging the unit into a standard AC wall outlet. A colored battery status LED lets you know when the charge is complete (charging may take up to 23 hours if the CJIC 350's battery is dead).
For added safety measures, the CJIC 350 features a jump-starter safety switch, which ensures that power is safely transferred to the jumper cables. The CJIC 350 also includes a reverse polarity indicator to alert you if the battery is not properly connected.

There are three factors that made us form this opinion. First, it’s the quietest compressor we’ve ever encountered. It’s a remarkable departure in a genre of tools that normally force you to suspend conversation while it’s cycling. The MAC700 puts out 80 decibels, according to the folks at Makita, and when you compare that to the 90 and up you get from most units, that’s practically a hum. So we like this for household use, especially in a basement shop.
Next on our list of pluses for the DIY-er is the low-amp draw, and with that, fewer trips to the breaker box and less chance of premature motor failure. The other feature that won us over is the easy-on-the-hand lever handle ball valve that saves your knuckles when you drain the tank. It’s also got a really fast cycle, so by the time you take a sip of water, you’re ready to work again.
It’s made like a champ, with a roll-bar handle that protects your investment, a cast-iron cylinder for durability and an oil sight glass that makes maintenance a breeze.--Kris Jensen-Van Heste
